Not long ago, a new name in the doll industry caught my attention: MD Doll. At first glance, I wasn’t convinced they were worth mentioning. Their designs looked fairly ordinary, and I assumed they would slowly trickle into the market like other recent newcomers such as Shenyin or MMX Doll.

Surprisingly, MD Doll took a very different path. Instead of gradually gaining traction, they appeared across multiple established vendors almost immediately. That kind of visibility usually doesn’t happen without strong backing. Judging by their website—which mirrors the style of XT Doll’s official site—it’s possible the two brands are linked, or MD is even being produced in the same facility.

Among the current lineup, Joanna might be the most eye-catching head sculpt. She comes with an unusual feature—eyes that can open and close. It’s a fun touch, though at certain angles the mechanism can make her expression appear a little odd. Still, compared to other heads in their range, Joanna is one of the more refined and attractive designs.
